I define an adult as someone who takes 100 % responsibility for his or her life and situation. Every blaming thought you hold is an obstacle---an obstacle to your success. Blaming is just a story that we tell ourselves, and in the story we distort reality in order to justify ourselves--in order make ourselves feel right or better than the other person. How do we move beyond blaming?

Every aspect of your life is connected. Workplace and home. Professional and personal relationships. Spirituality and success. I write about leadership, because in every part of life, we are leaders. We make decisions. We affect others. We want to accomplish goals. There are people in every part of our respective lives who look to us for help, for guidance, or for direction.

It is a human tendency to categorize each other. We place labels on people and tell ourselves that is who they are. Once we create a label we look for evidence to continually prove that the label is correct. Each human being is a bundle of potentiality. We will only find this potential when we move beyond labels and learn to be present with people.

Hope tells you that things can get better. Yet, when we hope that things will turn out for our best interests we make ourselves dependent on some future that has not yet arrived. "Nice" is when you are polite to someone in person, but you may criticize them behind their back. "Kind" is when you treat people with respect and compassion regardless of who they are and what they do. Kindness includes empathy and care. Kindness is not something you give to people who deserve it. Kindness is a mindset that you

When you find yourself frustrated with others, with life, with yourself--step back. Remind yourself that you are much more than this. Remind yourself that you are of Spirit, and that this person you think is you, is just a small part of the greater you. You are not your role, but something deeper. By identifying with this deeper, higher self, you become much more effective.

An ego centered leader strives to be the center of attention. His goal is to get what he can from the people around him. The focus of the ego is always on getting what it thinks it doesn't have. A leader who is capable of transcending ego needs, realizes that she already is a center, a nucleus from which radiates her power. Influence is her power and it does not come from a mindset of getting. It comes from a mindset of giving. You are a nucleus, and you give what is inside you.
