An In-Depth Look At Securing Your Vehicle

An In-Depth Look At Securing Your Vehicle

Many vehicle owners all over America are priding themselves in the vehicle they drive. This especially holds true for men and women who take the appearance of their vehicles above and beyond its regular OEM look.

If you have a beefed up, pimped out, or jacked up vehicle; you have to ask yourself if you’re doing everything you can to secure your investment.

Wheels: These are the biggest and most popular upgrade you can get for your vehicle. Depending on what you want to spend, and what kind of vehicle you have, wheel upgrades with tires can sore up into the thousands of dollars very easily. Custom wheels on a Cadillac, or monster wheels on a lifted 4x4; it’s always a good idea to secure your investment by using wheel locks or locking lug nuts.

A great number of vehicles being manufactured now days are built with factory installed security systems. This is good! However there are many vehicles on the road that don’t have security systems. These are the vehicles that should consider installing aftermarket security systems to protect your vehicle from tampering, theft or simple break-ins. Even if your vehicle isn’t that valuable, it’s your form of transportation and independence. Can you afford not to?

America’s rising costs of gasoline should be reason enough to exercise the use of a locking fuel cap. Doing this can prevent someone from sucking gas out of your fuel tank, and also prevent vandalism such as people dumping stuff into the fuel tank to disable the vehicle.

The Club: One of the best loss prevention items on the market. There are two versions of this device. One version locks across the steering wheel, which prevents a thief from steering the vehicle if started illegally. If a thief can’t steer, where’s he going to go?  The other version of the club actually locks the steering wheel to the break pedal. This version of the club stops the use of the steering and the brakes.

Tailgates On Pick-Up Trucks: In metropolitan cities across America, the thefts of tailgates and taillights are not uncommon. It only takes one or two people to steal a tailgate off a truck, and no tools are needed to do this. It costs at least $600.00 to replace a stolen tailgate. You have to by the parts, then have a body shop paint the new parts to match your truck. By the time you’re done, you could easily be in the hole at least six hundred dollars or more.

One way to avoid this is to install a tailgate lock on your tailgate. These locks can replace your existing tailgate handle. The lockable handle looks exactly like the old handle, except the new lockable handle has a keyhole, like on your driver’s door. Installing this device prevents your gate from being stolen; it also prevents the theft of your taillights. If the thief can’t get the gate open to get at the screws for your taillights, he can’t steal them.

Joseph Toth

I was raised in Wisconsin as a hard working individual. As a teenager I worked on a farm until I became a adult. I have never worked less than two jobs at a time until I turned 44. I don’t, … (and never have) smoke, drink, drug or gamble. In 2005 I successfully gave up caffeine entirely and haven’t had any since. My hobbies are automobiles, electronics, driving and photography. I have many friends, and I am well known in the tri-village area I live in. My adult careers that stayed with me long term are ‘commercial driver’ and ‘loss prevention agent’. My dislikes in life include bullies, the civilian ownership of ‘exotic’ firearms, organized crime, pornography and people who beat females and children.

Choosing A Flat Panel Television

By: Joseph Toth | 22/11/2009 | Technology
Just one secret in choosing a nice flat panel television only involves checking some numbers. Many of us have been in the television section of a department store or electronics store and have seen the line up of all the different flat panel televisions. The number of sets to choose from can make a purchase decision a little more difficult than it has to be.

On 08-02-09 just after 4:00pm I received an unsolicited email from a person claiming to have ties to Sudan. In this email from a person I don’t know, I was asked to help with a huge financial problem. Five and a half million dollars to be exact. I read the entire email carefully. It came to me as a feedback from an article I wrote. There’s something very wrong with this picture.
