Boston Nissan's Quick Guide to Buying a New Car

Posted: Dec 28, 2010 |

Is the car buying process leaving you feeling overwhelmed? Here's a quick guide from Boston Nissan which will help you buy a new car:

Arrange for a Car Loan

If you don't have enough cash to purchase a car outright, you'll need to arrange for a car loan. Order your credit report (you can get one for free from each of the major credit reporting agencies each year) to make sure your credit history is good. Fix any mistakes you may find, or take time to repair your credit if you have a number of late items or problem areas on your report. If all looks well, arrange for a car loan through a bank, credit union, or at our Boston Nissan dealership.

Find True Market Value Pricing

In order to understand what price is fair on any vehicle, you can look up True Market Value for any car you may want to buy, as well as any car you might want to trade in to make sure you're being offered a fair price.

Get a Quote on Your Favorite Nissans

You can use our online quote feature to find out how much the Nissan of your choice will cost at Boston Nissan. You can also make phone calls to the dealership to get quotes, all before coming in to the dealership. This will help you decide if your budget is large enough for the car with the features you want; or if you need to downsize a little. Compare the quote to the True Market Value to make sure it's a fair price.

Close the Deal

Our dealership will draw up a contract for the Nissan you've selected and go over the contract with you and your financing details. Get your car insurance in place for the new car. If all looks well on the contract, sign and have the salesperson go over the car with you for scratches, dents, and operating the various controls and features.

Drive Home

Once you're satisfied all is the way you want it with your car, get the keys and drive it home!

Some people have always stayed away from compact cars because they are concerned about their safety. In a smaller car, if you're in an accident it seems there would be less room for the driver and passengers to remain safe inside the car. Boston Nissan vehicle experts assure customers that modern compact cars have a variety of upgraded safety systems that protect you as well as larger cars, including airbags, anti-theft and anti-lock braking systems.
