Mercedes Benz’s CLK 63 AMG Black Series V8 engine has wide array of captivating racetrack technology that easily defines the opulent motor sport image of AMG.

The car’s V8 engine is made up entirely of high durable aluminum. The intake and the exhaust are vertically arranged. This goes along with the new impure variable intake manifold that features two integral throttle flaps. With these combined, the result is excellent cylinder charging. A durable valve train is the result of the car’s use of bucket tappets in the cylinder heads. It can be further deduced that the CLK 63 AMG Black Series has high revolutionary speeds.

Mercedes-AMG further features variable camshaft adjustment, an extra-rigid closed-deck crankcase and cylinder walls with a revolutionary new LDS coating.

The system pressure of between 3.8 and 5.0 bar is operated with an electronically controlled fuel supply. System pressure depends on current requirements. To match the power demands and outside temperature, the fuel pressure is instantly adjusted. The command from the accelerator is translated by the engine electronics into a corresponding specified target pressure falter than a wink of an eye. A guaranteed spontaneous response coupled with sporty overrun attributes throughout the full spectrum of engine loads and revolution speeds is the result of the variable control.

The amazing sporty character of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series manifests itself in the form of tremendous speed on all engine speed ranges. The new AMG V8 yields 500 Newton meters of torque to the crankshaft as low down as 2000 rpm, while the maximum of 630 Newton meters is on tap at 5250 rpm.

When AMG engines are manufactured, the producer follows the "One man, one engine" concept. This means each V8 engine is assembled by a single engineer from start to finish. The AMG engines are produced in accordance with the strictest AMG quality standards. This can be verified by the engineer’s signature depicted on the AMG engine plate.
