The leading cause of personal injury among Americans today is due to automobile accidents involving cars, trucks or motorcycles.

The old adage of "flying is safer than driving" is ever-increasing as automobile accidents continue to rise.

Many of these accidents could have been prevented if traffic laws and common sense had been observed. Drivers who cause accidents -- while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, by driving recklessly, falling asleep at the wheel, talking on a cell phone, or otherwise being distracted -- can be held liable.

Because of many factors including vehicle design, severity of wreck, etc., there are a list of serious injuries involved with automobile accidents, some of which result in death. It is also not unusual for automobile litigation to involved suing an insurance company or an uninsured or underinsured motorist who was responsible for the accident.

Trucks often increase the severity of an automobile accident. It is important for attorneys to be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations governing the conduct of truck drivers, as well as the condition of their vehicles. Automobile and truck accident cases also may involve other complex issues including dangerous highway design, dangerous design of an automobile or truck, and liquor liability claims against bars that serve drivers to the point of intoxication. These cases may involve multiple defendants including state and local governments, a state's department of transportation, and automobile manufacturers.

Liquor Liability and Automobile Accidents

Liquor liability involves bodily injury or personal damage in which a person or business can be held responsible for causing or contributing to the intoxication of a person; furnishing alcoholic beverages to a person under the legal drinking age or under the influence of alcohol; or violating any statute, ordinance, or regulation relating to the sale, distribution, or use of alcoholic beverages.

As many automobile accidents involve the use or misuse of alcohol, liquor liability holds those parties who have provided alcohol to those already intoxicated or those under the legal drinking age responsible for their actions.

If you have been involved in an automobile accident and have suffered injury, you may have a legal case. To learn more about automobile accidents and liquor liability, or to protect yourself from these, it is advisable to speak with an experienced law firm.

Possible frontal lobe brain injury
By: Gene Clements | 20-08-2008
On July 3, 2008, My wife took a 'header' from brick steps to a brick floor. Her forehead took the brunt of the fall, including broken glasses.   She subsequently developed serious 24/7 headaches, dizzyness, short term memory loss, occasional minor falls at home and has begun to (what I'd call) halucinate at night possibly steming from dreams that for her have become reality, even to the extent that she will get up and participate in an almost fantasy state! Such activity almost always relates to our various family members and might well include 'getting ready' for some future activity. Its almost like she was sleepwalking while still dreaming. Might these be symptoms of injury to the frontal brain lobe?  She had an MRI shortly after the fall that indicated that there was no skull fracture, but could there have been injury that would NOT have been revealed in the MRI and that would result in the symptoms described above?     Thank You for any insight you can give me! The situation is getting serious! Gene Clements
