Many years ago, when the rain pours and you are inside your car with windows open, you would be hurrying to lift the windows up, manually. Chances are you could be wet even before you can fully move the windows up and end up pretty exhausted with the manual work, too. This is because power windows were not still available at that time.
But nowadays, life is easier. All you have to do is press a button and the windows move by themselves. This is made possible by the Mercedes window motor which is the heart of the power window system. This lifting mechanism is a small electric motor is connected to a worm gear and some other spur gears to produce a large gear reduction, supplying sufficient torque to move the window up. This is positioned in your vehicle’s door and is typically fastened to the window regulator. On most US-made cars, the door on the driver’s side possesses the left window motor while the door on the passenger side contains the right window motor.
But sometimes, your Mercedes window motor can freeze up or get clogged by debris. The result is, you can't either raise or lower you windows. Also, the window motor can most probably get burnt out.
If you notice that your Mercedes power window system is not working, you have to check the fuses and circuit breakers first and foremost. With the door panel and liner removed and the power window switch plugged in, have a professional technician check the voltage at the motor.
A problem as simple as this can easily be taken for granted but can pose a huge deal of inconvenience. If you do need a replacement for your Mercedes window motor, don't delay because during these modern times, you can't any kind of inconvenience at all. The good news is there are various auto shops online that can provide you with what you need.
