European Tail Lights Give Your Ride That Special Look

Automakers down through the years have created some zany looking tail light designs for their cars. For example, during the 1960s the Ford Thunderbird featured sequential tail lights and, years later, Chevrolet introduced the 1990 Lumina van with monster-sized, you can’t miss it tail lights. These days tail lights on most cars do the job, but they don't leave much room for the imagination. Fortuitously, aftermarket designed have developed some nifty looking mods, known as Euro tail lights, that anyone can install.

Exactly what are Euro tail lights? Well let's just say this: there is some disagreement on the name but basically they are also known as Alteeza tail lights, the name of a popular producer of this style of tail light. Others prefer terms such as “clear tail lights” or “red tail lights” but in any case they are mods that change the look of factory tail lights. What you are installing are crystal clear or red lenses that go over bullet-style taillight and turn signal lenses. The new lenses, coupled with style rings and platings, help to emphasize the light emitting from auto tail lights and turn signals thereby giving the car a incomparable look quite different from the factory design.

Euro tail lights are sold in a variety of styles and bezel colors including chrome, carbon fiber, black, etc. Some styles can be be painted to match your car's unique body color. Additionally, new LED or light emitting diode tail lights have also gained in popularity. This particular mod features the installation of new bulbs that light faster and brighter than stock tail light bulbs; they contain no filament and can hold up under rough road conditions better than standard bulbs. Sooner or later, all cars will likely have LEDs as standard equipment, however you don’t have to wait that long.

Of course, if you already own a European make automobile you are likely satisfied with the stock design. Your Mercedes tail light assembly or Volkswagen tail light assembly is the basis for many of these modifications. All the same, if you want to squeeze a little extra style out of these types of cars there are mods for them too.

Yes, Euro tail lights are street legal and are Department of Transportation (DOT) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) approved. You don't have to be concerned about being pulled over by law enforcement unless you modify the mod on top of the modification!
