There are many companies who operated a Fleet driver system whereby their employees use a variety of vehicles to complete their everyday work. The most important thing for fleet driving companies to do is to ensure that all their drivers are fully trained.
Each company has obligation to conduct a risk assessment as well as intense Fleet driver training on all drivers. The risk assessment is designed to analyse the driving ability of the fleet drivers and to minimise the risk associated with the driver’s ability to drive.
The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act that was brought in as of 1st April 2008 was probably the most important thing to happen to Fleet Driving companies. In the past, if a company had failed to provide the correct training for the driver and he or she was involved in an accident then the company would be liable and would pay the fine or compensation.
However, thanks to the act all this has now changed. The new act now means that individuals can be held personally responsible for any incidents on the road involving fleet drivers who are not fully trained or risk assessed. This means that the training manager can be held responsible and depending on the outcome of the tribunal or inquest can be charged.
This means a training manager may face a jail sentence if they did not provide the right training or did not carry out the correct risk assessment. This has meant that more and more companies are looking for the best way to ensure all their drivers are fully trained.
With Fleet Driver risk assessments and training schemes available make the most of them and make sure your drivers are fully trained to avoid problems spiraling out of control.
There are also courses for advanced motorcycle training that covers all the areas needed to makes sure you will be safe on your bike. Being able to handle your motorcycle to higher skill level is better than any modification you will find in the shops because what’s the use of having fancy modifications if you can’t handle the bike properly?
It will only take one incident to make companies realise that Fleet driver training is essential. It will only take one incident to make companies realise that Fleet driver training is essential. Along with this, advanced motorcycle training gives your employees the driving skills needed to be safe on the roads.
