Helping People in North Carolina

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina was founded in 1926 by the Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, Carolina. It aimed to replicate the work done by Goodwill Industries in other states and followed the same philosophy of 'help up not hand out'. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), they assist a lot of different types of people with a variety of different needs.

Of course, whilst Goodwill aims to help other people, it is not without its own needs, one of which is donations. Donations allow the charity to raise money, funding their various training schemes, support systems and, of course, their job placement services. This allows the charity to continue helping people to make their lives better.

You can donate anything you wish, from clothes and household items to musical instruments and other less obvious items. However, sometimes small donations just aren't enough. Donating a vehicle to Goodwill Industries will provide them with even more opportunities to help people out. Fixing the car up and reselling it at a reasonable price to somebody who is in need of reliable transport is only one of the ways it can help. The other end is the money received from the sale of your donated car will be used to fund Goodwill's community projects and job training programs, helping people to get back on their feet.

Donating an old car that has been sitting on your driveway may not seem like it would help a lot, but you'd be surprised at just how far a vehicle donation can go. If you have always been in the fortunate possition of owning a car and never had to worry about transportation, putting yourself in the shoes of someone on the bottom rung of the ladder trying to make their life better, a dependable means of transportation could really be a life changer.
