The son of world famous professional wrestler Hulk Hogan got caught up in a car crash last Sunday. According to the police report, Hogan's son was severely injured. Nick Bollea was driving his Toyota Supra at a high speed at 7:30 p.m. According to Wayne Shelor, the Clearwater Police spokesman, Bollea, the real name of Hogan's son, lost his control and hit the raised median. The vehicle flipped back and hit a palm tree. The car was severely destroyed specially some parts like the bumper and the hood. No Airaid cold air intakes were found in the vehicle.
The 17-year-old Bollea, together with 22-year-old John Graziano, another passenger, was rescued by the paramedics. They were brought to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg by a chopper. Bollea's condition was not revealed but according to Shelor, both men received major injuries.
The car crash happened in State Route 60 found on the main drag through downtown Clearwater, causing the road to be temporarily closed. A palm tree was also destroyed in the crash.
Alcoholism was not the cause of the car crash according to the news. The high speed driving was mainly the cause of the accident the spokesman said.
Bollea was brought out from the hospital in Florida last Monday. Linda Hogan said, "My son, Nick, and a friend were involved in a car accident last night." She also said in a statement, "Nick suffered minor injuries and has been treated and released."
"Nick is currently at the hospital with John and his family. His sole concern is for the well-being of his friend. On behalf of my family, we ask that your thoughts and prayers be with John and his loved ones."
Bollea was seen appearing on the reality TV show called "Hogan Knows Best" hosted by his father, mother and sister. The show premiered last July 10, 2005. During the premiere, the show was able to gain 1.9% rating as the largest audience on the VH1 premiere ever. The semi-scripted reality TV show began airing on CMT earlier in 2006 and hits the TMF, MTV as well as the Biography Channel in United Kingdom and Ireland. The show also reached TVtropolis in Canada as well as MusiquePlus in French Canadian.
