Kia Ex Cee’d Cabrio Gets Unveiled

One of the things that draw lots of people to attend auto shows and car shows is the array of concept vehicles that are shown off by its creators. The fact that concept vehicles may only be viewed during that one event and would never be seen again is one of the things that make concept vehicles quite fascinating and quite so popular among many car followers and aficionados.

For the upcoming Geneva Auto Show in Switzerland, one of the concept vehicles that would be making its way to the knowledge and the hearts of the auto industry is the Kia Ex cee’d Cabrio concept vehicle. Kia is going to take off the curtains and show off whatever pieces of technology the Kia Ex cee’d Cabrio would have like perhaps some Weathertech mats and accessories.

Peter Schreyer is the person behind the concept vehicle and he is the design master at the Kia backyard. He says that the design that the Kia Ex cee’d Cabrio would hold is actually a look into the future of what kind of style would future Kia vehicles sport around. As long as he around, he says, the style would be like that of the Kia Ex cee’d Cabrio.

The Kia Ex cee’d Cabrio concept vehicle is actually a prototype of a vehicle from the company that would soon be going production by the end of this year. The fact that the former has been based on the latter, both come with the same wheelbase measurements. However, the concept vehicle comes with new exterior car parts and panels and has a fabric roof which can be folded down with just a touch of the button.

On the fabric roof, Schreyer maintains, “I'm convinced that the fabric roof will have a renaissance. We've all lived with the romantic idea of open-air driving for a long time and for me, metal roofed cabrios are not truly in tune with this emotional conditioning.” He certainly believes that such a design would be something unique yet would be quite useful once the vehicle does go into production.

Yong Hwan Kim is the senior executive vice president of Kia and he shares, “With this new cabrio concept car, Kia has once again demonstrated that it is a young, style-conscious company that knows how to combine elegance with dynamics. The Kia ex_cee'd is a fresh aesthetic high-point in our history, an encouraging sign of the growing internationalisation of our brand and a step in the process of evolving into a European company with Korean roots.”
