Limited Number Ron Fellows Special Edition Corvette to be Released in Europe

The Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows edition is the first signed special edition Corvette in the 54 history of the brand. The Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows edition marks the contribution of the Canadian racer to the success of the Corvette racing programme. Only 399 of the Corvette Z06 special edition are going to be produced in which 33 are intended for Europe. The special edition Corvette are distinguished by its unique Arctic White paint accentuated by a racing-style fender stripe, along with its full-width racing-type rear spoiler and polished 10-spoke aluminum wheels and of course Ron Fellows’ autograph.

The Ron Fellows edition concept is based on the Corvette Z06 built by the automaker Chevrolet which is a subsidiary of General Motors that produces the popular GM tail light cover. It is powered by the LS7 V8 engine revving up 377 kW or 512 hp at 6300 rpm mated to a rear-mounted 6-speed transaxle to give it optimum weight distribution. The Z06 in first gear can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a matter of 3.9 seconds and can reach top speed of 320 km/h.

The Ron Fellows special edition Corvette is also distinguished by its unique and exterior designs. The Corvette Z06’s front fender graphics will remind everyone who sees it of the identifying graphics found on the Corvette GT1 race car. Another noticeable feature of the Ron Fellows special edition Corvette is the double Monterey Red Metallic stripes with Machine Silver borders and Fellows’ autograph in a contrasting Victory Red shade. To give honor to Ron Fellows’ Canadian heritage, a red maple leaf logo motif is incorporated with the graphics. The other exterior marks include a full-width racing spoiler and a unique windshield banner.

For the interior the Ron Fellows Corvette is equipped with red seats, door trims, console, and instrument panel. The red leather armrest that featured the Corvette crossed flags logo is signed and numbered by hand. For the final finishing touch is a carbon-fiber “tech” pattern interior trim plate.

Ron Fellows is considered an important part of the team’s 51 victories since its creation in 1999. He scored Corvette Racing’s first victory in 2000 and continues to become the three-time Le Mans Series GT1 champion, a 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner and an overall winner in the Rolex 24 at Daytona with Corvette Racing. Then in 2005 and 2006, Ron Fellows together with team mates Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta continuously won ALMS titles.

According to ED Peper, Chevrolet Manager, “Ron Fellows is part of Corvettes racing heritage and he has been instrumental in the remarkable success of the Corvette Racing Team in the American Le Mans Series. The special signature-series Z06 model that bears his name will forever link him to one of the greatest eras in factory racing, which has produced six consecutive ALMS GT1 manufacturers’ championships, and counting.” The Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows edition will be offered in a limited number in Europe.
