Motorcycle Riders and Leather Jackets: A Match Made in Heaven!

When it comes to motorcycle riding, in the long run, leather jackets have clearly emerged the winner again and again, as no other apparel can provide a better combination of protection, fashion and style together. It covers all sorts of styles, and thus never go out of fashion.

These leather jackets, meant for riders, including touring scooter jackets, cruiser variants, and those that are well armored, are generally made of very fine materials and are of top class.

The touring jacket is based on the underlying fact that motorcycle riders cover a rigorous number of miles and are constantly exposed to the elements and the dirt and the grime on the road and therefore, comfort and protection are two things these jackets provide really well. Wearing one renders the rider safe from all sorts of cuts, bruises and infections that could result from accidents. They are generally made of full grain naked buffalo or cowhide and are almost 1.5 mm thick.

One cannot go on enough about safety when it comes to motorcycle riding, as a slide on an asphalt road might prove really painful without a leather jacket on. Touring jackets often come with a matching pair of chaps, and are therefore pretty steeply priced, and are, more often that not, decorated with braiding, conchos and other forms of craftsmanship.

The individual tourer has many options available with many styles to choose from, and come customized according to the conditions in which the person will be riding. Any jacket e.g. a lambskin leather blazer on the higher range will come zip outlining, and a jacket should be chosen with plenty of vents in case of a very warm climate and excessive heat. Side laces and neck warmers, on the other hand, help in case of a chilly weather.

For added comfort and extra protection, many leather jackets have removable protectors for the shoulders and elbows. Always check for CE approval in this regard. And for those spending long hours, a kidney belt is also available, so avail of one immediately.

Movement in your jacket should be easy and smooth, and your jacket should never hinder it, as one of its purposes is to provide ease of stretching and bending of body parts. It's always best to be on the lookout for stretch material in your touring pants or touring chaps.

Bikers, especially those who spend long hours on the road, should seriously consider buying a lambskin leather jacket or any other higher ranged touring motorcycle jacket and apparel. They turn out to be essential in case of protective gear and protection on the road.

Apart from protection and obvious practical purposes, a motorcycle jacket has become immensely popular in the fashion industry, with styles being made for bikers in general, and also specifically made and customized for them and their unique needs as well.

In the end of the day you decide. Try and find out your own personal styles and get yourself a suitable leather jacket, with the required number of vents, pockets, belts and laces. Looks count for a lot, so try and look cool while you're at it!
