Paintless dent repair brings with it a number of significant benefits. There are the obvious benefits which is cost and time effectiveness. Then, there is the benefit paintless dent repair services often are not credited: paintless dent repair services often look far better than the traditional body work. Yes, paintless dent repair is an IMPROVEMENT upon the old method. In addition to the multitude of cost benefits paintless dent repair provides, it also provides significant benefits in terms of quality of work. So, why is it that many consumers are not jumping on the paintless dent repair bandwagon?
Part of the reason is the fact that there are fewer body shops that offer paintless dent repair work as opposed to traditional repair work. As such, the ability to find a service that offers this type of repair work will be limited. The traditional method of bodywork is far more widespread and common. As such, more consumers will be familiar with the older model. Of course, there will also be those consumers that will travel significant distances to find a paintless dent repair specialist but there numbers are somewhat less in numbers than the traditionalists. But why is this? Why do some consumers stick with the traditional when other potentially better options are available? The reason, in a nutshell, is due to the fact that many consumers have difficulty departing from tradition even when such a departure can be quite beneficial to them.
Part of the reason for this is the fact that people generally don't like the unexpected. So, when they are used to something they may opt not to try something new. They just do not want to risk an end result that they may not be happy with. While this may seem understandable on the surface, the fact remains that this is an ultimately self defeating consumer decision. This is because it involves overspending to arrive at a result that could have been acquired in a much cheaper manner.
To stick with traditional methods of repair and avoid seeking paintless dent repair service is not a smart consumer decision. In fact, it would be no different than attempting to listen to music on an 8-track tape deck! Sure, the 8-track will play music but it certainly will not sound anything like a compact disk. (Plus, it would be pretty difficult to find an 8-track of any music that was recorded after 1981!) Yes, it does get to a point where something becomes outdated and a new method is preferred. In the world of auto body work, it is obvious that paintless dent repair is the wave of the future and this is why many traditionalists will start departing the traditional model in due time.
Innovation will often defeat traditionalism. However, it might not happen overnight and will need a bit of time to gain traction. Eventually, the benefits of a new method of doing things will become obvious and more and more people will jump on the bandwagon. This is the way progress works!
