Picking up a Used Chevrolet Suburban

The chassis is stronger, more rigid and completely packed, and many good things flow from there. If the last Suburban that you drove or owned felt a little flimsy by half, the improved used vehicle version will dazzle. The drive is more stable and comfortable and more tense and precise handling is an outstanding feature. A used Suburban can be relied upon for its toughness and willingness to work.

You no longer need to worry about potholes or ruts in the road a used Suburban can cope with almost any conditions that you throw at it. The car is however pretty long at over eighteen feet making parallel parking a little bit of an inconvenience until you mentally adjust to its length.

The structure is 49% stiffer and 35% more resistant to twisting than the much older models. The suspension has been completely redesigned, using springs over shock absorbers on the front and a rear Reinforced suspension of five links around a solid rear axle, which is much better for towing. In addition, for the first time using a system of steering utilizing rack and pinion, this is a big improvement package on features that let down much older used Suburban's.

Some pre-owned Suburban's are equipped with AutoRide, the optional suspension system that adjusts electronically to the road conditions as interpreting sensors pick up changes in the surface. AutoRide is particularly useful when you are wanting to buy a used vehicle that you will often use for towing.

The 5.3 liter Vortec V8 totally aluminum engine generates 310 horsepower and 335 lb / ft of torque (the other 5.3 liters, with iron block and aluminum heads, generates 320 HP and 340 lb / ft of torque). Either engine can run on regular unleaded gasoline classified by the EPA with 15/20 miles per gallon City / Highway, which is pretty good for a larger used vehicle.

The used Suburban stands out for pulling heavy trailers, carrying loads of people and luggage, and enduring hard use and rugged terrain. These vehicles are intended to withstand all the abuse that is thrown at them. It still manages to be relatively lightweight and fuel efficient and designed to look like a SUV, they simply will not hold back when it's time to pull a heavy trailer or bounce on rocks along a river steadily.

For an icon that is approaching its 75 birthday, the used Suburban is still clearly on of the best. The Suburban was completely redesigned for 2007; this latest generation of classic used Suburban's represents an improvement on the still outstanding earlier models. The windshield of this latest generation is more inclined to give better aerodynamics and all the chrome has been removed from the sides.

Inside this well respected used SUV, the dashboard is lower and the instrument panel is finally ordered. The seats have been lifted, providing a dominant vision on the road. And with the optional adjustable pedals, a driver of any size can achieve a comfortable driving position and secure.

If you need more power for towing, which is what stands out with the used Suburban, you can search for a 2500 chassis and / or 6.0 liter engine that generates 360 horsepower and 380 lb / ft of torque, even using regular unleaded gasoline. With 4WD, has a towing capacity of a massive 9400 pounds, compared to 8000 pounds making these ideal used towing vehicles.
