Dwyane Thomas is a part time cook and full-time auto-enthusiast. This 31-year old Civil and Environmental graduate is a consultant at one of the engineering firms in Pennsylvania.
The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) and DaimlerChrysler Corporation have collaborated to award the 2007 NABOB DaimlerChrysler Management Fellowship. The award aims to promote the development of African-Americans with excellent talents that are willing to become radio or TV station owners. In regards with this, DaimlerChrysler Corporation and NABOB have chosen Reva Squire and Dale Murray as the 2007 Fellowship recipients.
"DaimlerChrysler is extremely pleased to build on our initial commitment to NABOB as the exclusive sponsor of the NABOB DaimlerChrysler Management Fellowship. We welcome Ms. Squire and Mr. Murray to the program and believe this fellowship will provide the opportunities for them to receive the knowledge and experience necessary for future media ownership." said Frank Fountain, DaimlerChrysler Senior Vice President - External Affairs and Public Policy.
"Media ownership has a direct affect on media content, from local news reporting to radio music programming. Minorities overall own a majority interest in only 3.6% of the total number of stations. Our partnership with the National Association of Black Owned broadcasters to sponsor the NABOB DaimlerChrysler Management Fellowship is our contribution to change the proportion of minority-owned stations within the landscape of all broadcast stations." he added.
Frank Fountain continued:
"We are very excited about this program and about working with NABOB to help this very valuable organization fulfill its mission to improve and increase the opportunities for black and minority owners in the broadcast industry."
NABOB, the largest trade organization that represents the interests of African-American owners of radio and TV stations all over the United States has chosen Reva Squire and Dale Murray as the 2007 NABOB DaimlerChrysler Management Fellows because of their achievements in the field of radio and TV. Reva Squire, a graduate of B.S. degree in Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University currently promotes the Tom Joyner Sky Show. Meanwhile, Dale Murray serves as the current Program Manager of WXEZ-FM, a radio station based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 2003, Barnstable Broadcasting voted Murray as the Program Director of the Year.
Although Reva Squire and Dale Murray won’t receive any DaimlerChrysler product like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class with Mercedes power steering pump or Dodge Viper, As a NABOB DaimlerChrysler Management Fellows, Squire and Murray will undergo a rigorous two-year learning program about the laws and requirements in running a U.S. TV or radio station, media management skills (including hiring engineers, broadcast personalities, and advertising sales staff), and other tasks regarding media operations. Moreover, Reva Squire and Dale Murray will also host a program called "Fellows Retreat" that will allow them to meet and interact with DaimlerChrysler corporate officials at the company's headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
