And because used four-wheelers enter the used markets "as is", you must know what you are looking for so you can cut through the volume of ATVs you will find to get to the type of machine that suits your needs and plans.
By spending some time looking at new ATVs both on lots and on the internet, you can define what you want from your used four-wheeler. You can also prioritize that list of requirements so that if you find several great looking used four-wheelers to consider, you know what you can live without or what you would be willing to add to the vehicle if you can get a good deal from the used ATV market. That research will serve you well as you go to the many resources for finding quality used four-wheelers.
It is always good to shop locally because once you find an ATV that is a good fit, you can drive it and have it checked out by a mechanic. Be sure you insist that the ATV you find passes a mechanic's inspection so you know there are no hidden damages that will surprise you after the purchase. But by doing your homework and shopping smart, you can buy a great used four-wheeler that will give you years of fun and adventure going off-road wherever you want to explore.
