You have given your car a perfect wash, and detail. After you have had it looking amazingly ready to be sold, you went ahead and wrote a selling ad, which turned into a phone call or an email inquiring about the car. Now is the most serious step in the process. Meeting the potential buyer, and having him or her test drive the car. But, how do you handle it? How do you increase the chances of having the car sold to this buyer? Hence, very few people are willing to buy a car without test driving it.
Yes it does feel weird to set in the passenger seat, and have a stranger drive your car, but there should be nothing to worry about so long you follow the tips discussed below.
The most important thing to do is contacting your insurance company, and confirming that your insurance policy does indeed cover the buyer in case of an accident. Needless to mention, if your policy doesn’t cover such incidents, either change to where it would, or make sure that the buyer has a full coverage valid insurance. Furthermore, the buyer must have a valid driver’s license issued by a state authority in the United States. Write down the information of the driver’s license, and if the buyer has an insurance policy, keep a record of this information too.
It is always suggested that you meet the buyer at a place other than your and their house; you should also make sure that you let a friend or a family member know of your plans. Now that the buyer is physically looking at the car, point out the points that you didn’t have enough space to mention in the advertisement, needless to mention stressing the points already mentioned in the advertisement.
