3 Ways To Encourage Your Kid To Bike

Posted: Oct 30, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

When it comes to cycling and children it can be very difficult to get your children to ride a kid bike. Children sometimes don't want to involve themselves in something for the fear of getting hurt or are merely uninterested. Many children have complained about the fact that they have to ride a bicycle. If you want to encourage them to ride a kid bike then use some of our suggestions outlined in this article. We will discuss three simple but fool-proof ways to engage your child to ride their bike. These three ways can also help you create more ways to motivate your child to bike.

Set an example

Children want to be exactly like their parents. They will watch you and listen to what you say. If you are constantly encouraging your child to cycle but you aren't participating actively in the activity then they might be less likely to jump in. Set an example and start cycling with your child when you encourage them. They will want to model your specific activity and join in with you. It can also be a great way to bond and spend some quality time with your children. Show them how much fun cycling is and they might just stop complaining about not wanting to cycle.

Make it as fun as possible

When it comes to making your child do something they don't want to – make it fun. I always encourage parents to think of various activities that they can do with their children when they are riding on their kid bike. A few simple tricks to make it as fun as possible is to play hide and seek with your children but the only trick is they are only allowed to hide somewhere where they can also fit their bikes. You can run competitions for racing or finding certain objects. A fun hunt during the fall months is for your kids to find as many red leaves as possible. The only trick is they need to be on their bikes at all times while looking for the leaves.

Let them choose their bike

Kids feel a greater pride when they pick out their own toys. Instead of going to buy the bike for your child, let them go with you and choose their own bike. This will make sure that they feel motivated and enjoy the purchase.

These three simple ways will help encourage your child to bike.
