About All-Terrian Pushchairs

Posted: Dec 13, 2010 |

All terrain pushchairs are designed specifically for the roughest terrain or jogging, but are equally comfortable in everyday use, if occasionally, a little on the larger size. But compared to a multi-functional travel system, the all terrain pushchair will seem light, with the rear width of the wheel base being the only hinderance compared to other forms of pushchairs. This extra width ensures better stability over rougher ground, such as countryside trails, or even mountain pathways.

One of the most important factors in buying All Terrain Pushchairs, is to ensure the pushchair has either a fixed front wheel or lockable front wheels. Swivel wheels make a pushchair easy to manoeuvre, while fixed wheels make handling easier over rough surfaces. Some pushchairs offer both a fixed and swivel wheel option.

Certainly, as parents ourselves, we found that having an additional smaller, and cheaper 'city' pushchair was the best option - as one size certainly did not fit all. This ensured our outdoor experience was as good as it could possibly be with a purpose built, all-terrain pushchair, without compromising in other areas by trying to find an in-between alternative. However, having the ability to attach a pram as an option, enables the pushchair to be used during the very early months with your baby. Once a little larger, your child will be happier with a pushchair that can recline when it's nap time.

There are many additional options that are available from different manufacturers - so it's worth spending a little time researching what's right for you.
