Baby Clothing – “Organic”- Unnecessary Right?

Organic cotton baby clothes are being sought out by health conscious parents.  Their concern for the well being of their babies & the benefits for our environment is the motivation for Green Living.  What potential hazards exist?

New Baby skin is extremely sensitive & delicate making it susceptible to skin irritation.  Chemical ingredients contained in various products that are specifically designed for babies & young children have the potential to cause respiratory problems.

Organic Cotton V’s chemically Sprayed Cotton

More than 2 billion dollars worth of pesticides are purchased each year.  Cottons that are not grown with organic methods are treated with large amounts of pesticides, herbicides & fertilizers.

Many of the pesticides contain toxic nerve agents that were produced decades ago as weapons of war.  A significant number of reports verify that these toxic chemicals have been linked to various forms of cancer.

Eco Friendly Baby Products - Are Minus Toxic Poisons

Toxic substances enter the air, the soil & our water-courses causing environmental damage along the way.  What we eat, breath & what has contact with our skin - may have a detrimental affect on our wellbeing.

An increasing number of parents are choosing to remove the potential dangers by purchasing organic cotton baby apparel for their little ones.

Organic Cotton, Hemp, Bamboo – How Much Safer?

Very strict guidelines must be met for a product to be labeled as Certified Organic.

  •  Organic farmers use different management systems.
  •  Promoting biodiversity & maintaining the natural biological cycles.
  •  They incorporate crop rotation to minimize use of natural pesticides.
  •  Instead of chemical herbicides they remove weeds manually.

Current consumer demand has encouraged more farmers & manufacturers to accept the serious commitment to provide materials for chemical free baby clothing and bedding items.

  • Hemp Fibers produce an extremely durable fabric.
  • Hemp is considered naturally UV resistant.
  • Bamboo is hypoallergenic & has natural antibacterial properties.
