Baby Shower Decorating Tips based on Your Budget

Posted: Dec 28, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

There are three ways to decorate a baby shower and it really all depends on the budget. The issue of the budget really also depends on those who are planning the party. They would have to settle on a price for each to cough up or they can start depositing money for several weeks until they reach a certain amount. The details or the budget can be discussed amongst friends. But whatever it is, the money involved in baby shower decorations will be the key to keeping it really simple or going all out.

No Budget

Okay, people who have no budget to speak of can still plan a party, and a fun one at that. However, this would mean that the party decorations will have to be made up from existing decorations in or around the place that it is to be celebrated at. The party itself can be decorated with just the gifts and the food and it can be held in one of the friend's house. If the gifts are part of decorations then don't have them wrapped at all. The gifts can be integrated into the decor of the house. Or, if they are to be wrapped, then wrap them decoratively. That way they can be strategically placed on tables and other places for the new mother to see.

Minimal Budget

If there is a small budget for the decorations, then channel them to balloons and tableware or candles. The tableware can be colorful paper plates and plastic forks, spoons and glasses. There are paper plates with prints on them that are suitable for your baby shower theme. The glasses can be plastic too and of course the paper table napkins come either printed or in different colors. The tableware alone is enough to lend color and decor to a baby shower and it is also functional at the same time. Plants from the garden can be brought in and balloons can be inflated to float to the ceiling or line the floor. Crepe paper, really inexpensive and colorful, can be cut into strips and twisted to form arches and loops hanging from the ceiling. These supplies are inexpensive, but can make a great impression.

Maximum or Unlimited Budget

This is the type of budget where cost and money is not even an issue. If this is the case, then just ask a planner to decorate the whole place according to the theme and the desires of the expectant mother. Always tell the planner that there is a limited budget and even go through the motions of haggling for the discounts and freebies. With a bigger budget, you can get many more themed decorations and centerpieces like 4-tier diaper cakes that will really light up the room.

Planning for baby shower decorations is fun and exciting but can be limited to the party budget. See how much people are willing to spend on them and work around it. Decorations need not be ostentatious just as long as it is tasteful, cost effective and attractive.
