Be a Master on How to Find a Baby Sitter and Evaluate If You Have the Best One

Posted: May 25, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

Here are some quick tips on how to find a baby sitter and master the art of looking for signs if she or he is good, bad or plain lousy in doing the job.

Babysitting is not for everybody but some people would just dip themselves into it due to economic reasons. Their background varies from students to nurses, aspiring artists to former real estate brokers. So how would you know which one is good in taking care of your kids?

A baby sitter should be more than just someone who is friendly and who loves children though it helps too. He or she should be able to handle emergencies, rowdy children and promotes health and safety all the time. Here are overlooked little signs and tips on how to find a baby sitter of this kind:

- Has taken a CPR/First-Aid class
- Can answer interview questions on health and safety
- Shows a warm and positive personality thru her words and actions
- Asks questions about your kids
- Has good references from families or parents they worked with previously

If you've already hired a babysitter and would like to know if you made the right choice, here is a checklist to see if he or she is doing the job well and not just simply "watching over" your children.

- Always on time
- Dresses up properly for the job
- Follows parents' specified rules in the house and for the kids
- Sometimes brings stuff for activity (books, DVD, game boards)
- Gives regular feedback and still asks questions about kids' preference (food, games etc...)
- Kids show and tell they like the baby sitter
