Choosing A Double / Twin Baby Pushchairs - What To Consider

Posted: Apr 16, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

When shopping for a twin/double baby pushchair you should consider a few items. Some styles of these buggies have the back seat designed for an older child and the forward seat for an infant. The back seat is placed slightly higher so the youngster sitting in the rear can see over the top of the front seat. A number of double buggies also incorporate a clear vinyl sunroof so the child can view the outside world better. The type of buggy that incorporates one seat in front of the other is just one style of the double buggy.

Another kind that is more familiar is the side by side model. There are some differences in these kinds of pushchairs. These buggies appear like 2 sleeping bags that have been joined together, are foldable and can be used for babies and toddlers. They usually incorporate a hood that is also retractable. The seats are individually adjustable so the baby can sleep and the toddler can be sitting upright. The previously described tandem design is not so convenient as the side by side design as the seats are not individually adjusted to the same extent.

When shopping for the right pram to use you would be advised to think about the places where you need to use it. The doublewide units will be difficult to maneuver indoors through store aisles. On the other hand they will permit both the youngsters to have really good views all around and can be positioned so both children are comfortable at all times. Another detail to take into account is whether the pushchair can be collapsed. This is crucial if you are going to move it between locations in the trunk of a car.

The pushchair style you choose should incorporate a sunbonnet to make it easier to shield tiny heads and eyes from the summer sun. You may also need somewhere you can put your purse, changing bag and anything else you need to carry with you. A number of pushchairs provide a place underneath the unit to place additional items. The wheels of the pushchair should move freely and swivel to let it turn corners easily. You may want to bear in mind the pushchair's weight since the weight of two children is going to add to it. It should not be too heavy or cumbersome to get up curbing or other small obstacles you may encounter.
