Daily Routines of Mommies

If you are deciding to have kids, it’s one of the best things you can ever do in this life. They will make you laugh, smile, cry, and will show you exactly what real love means. They can lift you up in the toughest of times, and make life worth living. It doesn’t matter how hard life can be, a little hug and a kiss can make it all better. That said, being a Mom is a lot of work and from a Dad’s perspective, it’s the toughest job out there.

Moms around the world have to learn to work on less sleep from the moment the little one enters the world. You may have heard rumors that babies sleep all through the night, if that is the case, you may just be up in the night. Hope for the best, but expect at least one to two late night feedings, and don’t forget that once day light comes, you are up. This means that you can say goodbye to uninterrupted sleep for a while.

Once morning comes, time for breakfast. Kid’s brains development and their growth depend upon a healthy diet, so you need to keep that in mind when making their meal. You are in charge of their diet, so yes, you are also in charge of their health. Now keep in mind, breakfast can get messy, and guess who gets to clean up, yup..Mom! By this time, Dad may already be out of the house, so you could be on your own at this point. Clean up may mean, a diaper change, clothes change, if you haven’t already done so, and of course, the kitchen may be a bomb from meal preparation.

Nap time is fantastic for kids, because they need their rest, but this doesn’t mean its nap time for Mom. There is other work that has to be done in order to prep for lunch. There might be bills to pay, or laundry that is piling up. This isn’t to say that men shouldn’t help, because I am all for that; but sometimes things get busy and she ends up doing the work. Two hours may never seem so short, and soon enough, your baby is up and ready to play. Your attention is what they crave, and if you don’t give it to them, they will let you know how unhappy they are with you. This means that all tasks are on hold.

Between changing diapers, meals, cleaning, and playing with your baby, you may find that five o’clock rolls around very soon. So think of this, have you showered yet? Have you brushed your teeth yet? Is putting on your make-up even a priority at this point? Have you even left the house? And to top it all off, how are you going to feel when your husband comes home and asks you what you did today? So like I said, being a Mom is a ton of work.

Now, keep in mind, your baby will give you the sweetest smiles and kisses which will make you forget about all of the hard work. The love that they have for you will erase those memories of days when you felt like you didn’t get anything done. The sound of their tiny feet running through the house will warm your heart, and the sound of their voice saying I love you will have you wishing that you could hold that moment in time forever. It goes by so fast, and you will wish you could go through it all again.

Bottom line; Mom’s have a tough job and they deserve all of the respect in the world for what they do. Hats off to all Moms for all of your hard work and for all of the things you do for our futures. I think we can all agree; having children is one of the best decisions we ever made or will ever make.
