Infants' Artificial Diet - Next Best Thing To Breast Milk

There are a number of artificial formulas on the market today; each claiming to be as nutritious as breast milk. Each full of vitamins needed for proper digestion, nutrition and growth for an infant. Each formula claims to target special areas for the advancement of the infant. But what is really the best artificial diet available? It should be as close to breast milk as possible to be the best for your infant.

The best artificial diet for your infant is from what nature provides; cow's milk is the closest thing to breast milk. A small mixture of cow's milk, water and sugar furnishes your infant with everything needed for artificial breast milk. The best way to prepare this artificial diet mixture is as follows: usingan 8 ounce battle; 3 ounces or one part of boiling water, 5 ounces to two parts of cow's milk and just enough sugar to sweeten the mix slightly. Always prepare this mixture fresh for each meal, and only enough for your infant to consume and always fresh, pure milk not previously skimmed, pasteurized or mixed with water, (preferably fresh from the cow). Don't warm the milk at all, allow the boiling water to provide the warmth needed to take the chill off the milk; thus, allowing the mixture to be tepid or lukewarm when given to your infant.

Mothers previously thought the best diet for an infant, even in the early stages, was to be something of a thicker substance then just milk or artificial diet. They also believed anything lighter than gruel didn't provide enough nourishment. This is a misconception worth correcting, because food that are too solid will overload the infant's stomach. By disrupting the stomach, the infant will experience symptoms such as, spasmodic pains and indigestion, possibly even colic. Not realizing the main cause, doctors then prescribe medications to purge the infants system; this will be resulting in weakening his or her abilities to digest their food properly.

Continuing with this way of feeding, whether with breast milk or artificial diet, will also continue the pattern of indigestion and having to put the child on medication to purge the infants system; thus breakingdown their system even more. If his or her diet is consistent in quantity and quality based on his or her digestive stages; physicians wouldn't be needed as often and only for the needed immunization shots and colds or ear infections.

As your baby grows and his or her digestion develops; you will use more milk and less water and sugar in the mixture for the artificial diet. At the second month stage the milk will increase to 6 ounces or three and a half parts and the water to 2 ounces or one half parts for and 8 ounce bottle. No other changes are needed in the baby's diet. It's foolish to think children need a big variety of foods early in life; their digestive system needs time to mature in a natural course of time. Nature provided one kind of food for early years of infants and babies and one should stick to it for the best interest of your baby.

Keep in mind there are two ways to feed your baby, once ou decide to add other foods to your baby's diet. You can use a spoon or a nursing bottle in the beginning. The spoon shouldn't be employed too early in your baby's life, around the time he or she is able to sit on his or her own is a good time to start using the spoon. Your baby's digestive system is too weak at the infancy stage and nees to consume his or her food more slowly by the act of sucking small amounts at a time.

The act of sucking serves another purpose as well; it develops the saliva glands to produce saliva needed to mix with the food as it is swallowed. The saliva produced and swallowed ads in the development of your infant's digestive system. Whatever nipple you use for our infant, you need to remember cleanliness is especially important for the success of any plan of natural or artificial diet for you baby.

The biggest and most serious problem our young face today is overfeeding, whether they are on an all natural diet or an artificial diet. This problem is easily overcome by providing a systematic plan in feeding. How much you feed your baby should depend upon the power of his or her digestive system.Start our on a schedule of only feeding your infant every three to four hours; if you feed your infant every hour or so, he or she will not be able to digest his or her food

Start out on a schedule of only feeding your infant every three to four hours; if you feed your infant every hour or so, he or she will not be able to digest his or her food properly. Thus, calling for yet another purge of his or her system through medication or other means; not allowing the food to digest will not contribute to his or her nourishment. As he or she grows older the quantity must increase and your baby will eat less frequently.

It can not be reassoned that a child can chew solid foods before he or she receives their teeth. The chewing action produces the saliva for proper digestion will not be produced until the child learns to chew and his or her teeth are established. Solid food in an undigested state will be injurious to the stomach as well as to other organs concerned with digestion.

Not keeping to an all natural or artificial diet and giving a chld solid food before they receive his or her teeth is much like putting corn in a grinder without the blades to perform the mechanics of grinding. While the second is considered absurd, the former is defended and practiced regularly. To practice this style of eating is not only unhealthy for the infant; it also lays the foundation for the possibility for future disease.

It is observed that children are given solid foods at a very young age. However, if you decide to start your child on solid foods, the time should be taken to break up the food as so the young child will be able to instantly swallow it and have little irritation to the digestive system. Thus, it is not surprising this practice, lies the foundation for future disease or disorders. Staying with the natural or artificial diet is not only practical but beneficial for your child.

The first two years of your child's life should incorporate these plans, while using the natural and artificial diet to provide for a better and healthier life style. It is very important to follow this plan between infancy and the process of teething; otherwise the introductory of solid foods may bring about more visits to the physician's office.

Infants fed breast milk appear to be more sound and healthy in constitution, and therefor they seem to be more energetic; compared to and infant started off on artificial diet. Teething too is affected with more or less disturbance of frame, and disease that is more dangerous too frequently ensues. however, using a natural artificial diet will ensure a good start on life when breast milk isn't a choice. A sensible management of diet will help prevent the occurrences of this complaint and provide for a healthy child.
