Kiddie Activities and Games For Babysitters

Posted: May 26, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

Unlike superheroes, babysitters do not have endless supply of energy to continuously keep the kids busy with an activity. Here are some ideas of games that are easy to supervise.

1. Draw and Color Fun

Take out all the kids' art materials like coloring books, crayons and pencils. Some kids find this boring so liven it up by putting a twist in this activity. Let the child color pictures in a fun and silly way like coloring clouds green and trees purple. Try also teaching the kids color-by-numbers or make up a "copy my drawing" contest.

2. Treasure Hunt

This is one of the popular games for babysitters. Just hide a treasure (any toy or box full of goodies) then the kids will hunt for it. They can also treasure-hunt for several things in a list you give them. The kids must stay in a room or in one place while you hide the treasures. Make sure that the hiding places are on safe and low-level areas.

3. Food Art

When it's time for you to prepare a meal or a snack, make it a fun game for kids. Vegetables like peas and carrots can be formed into a face on a plate. Let the kids help make shape sandwiches during lunch or let them create a food masterpiece on their own. Just give them one rule for this game - they have to eat everything they made.

4. Online Games

There are many games available on the internet but choose the ones that are educational. Make sure also that it suits the age of the kids you are looking after. The best online games for babysitters are those that have printables, puzzles, math-related games and those that help kids develop thinking skills.
