Certainly, motherhood has its own rewards; however, the first-time mothers need a little bit of guidance and suggestions regarding how to properly take care of the newly born baby.

The newborn babies sleep sixteen hours in a day on an average. The baby usually sleeps in a block of an hour or so at a particular time. After birth, the nervous system of the baby develops; therefore, as a mother, you need to make sure that the baby sleeps for longer periods until the age of three months, and sleeping straight away for almost six to seven hours at night. You have to ensure that you let your baby sleep whenever he or she feels like sleeping.

You can make your newborn do some of the baby exercises, and gentle massaging will relax the baby muscles. Making the newborn baby exercise will be useful in the development of muscle coordination, control, and assistance in developing the muscle's strength. You can lie down the baby on his/ her back and gently move the limbs. You can bend the legs till knees, and gently bend the arms till the elbows. This is one of the approaches for a mother can create a strong bond with the baby, and it is also a delightful experience, which is also leading the baby's muscles to grow firmly.

It is extremely significant that your baby receive the proper and healthy diet, which is considered as the mother feed during the first 6 months of his life and beyond as well. The foremost diet is the mother feed; however, if it is not available, the baby can be fed through a bottle with the baby formula. The choice is dependent upon each mother. A newborn baby requires to be fed after every few hours during a day. The babies will certainly going to let you know when he or she is hungry, by crying or simply being fussy.

The newly born babies should not be bathed every day as it can dry their soft and tender skin. Sponge bathing is the best option in the initial stages, because it is extremely gentle and does not upset your baby and his/her skin at all. Make sure that you clean diaper area and the creases in your baby's skin. Keep your child wrapped in a clean and soft towel fully and properly so that your child does not get chilled.

It is a great pleasure to take care of your newly born baby. But, you can for sure take advice from those entire mothers who are more experienced then you, or you can simply consult your family doctor for valuable tips.
