New Mom Advice Overload About Baby

Posted: Feb 05, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

You have all the necessary things for that new baby. You have the bassinet, changing table, diapers, baby sling, baby clothes and even the christening outfit. You finally have that precious baby and now all the unwanted advice.

If you are a new mom and have all kinds of advice to the point of wondering who should you listen to, the best advice is to listen to yourself. You know your baby. Every mom is new at it with their first born baby. Every mom always second guesses herself on what she does. Are you right or wrong? Guess what—sometimes you will be right and other times you will be wrong. Being wrong doesn't necessarily mean you are a bad mom. If you do something intentionally to harm your baby/child then of course that is not good at all. But out of love and not intentional is the course of life as a mom.

It is perfectly fine to say you were wrong. There hasn't been one mom who hasn't made many mistakes raising her baby. There are moms who think they know it all and are experts, but don't believe it. Every mom has different thoughts on how to raise a child. You have a right to your own.

Loving your baby is the biggest key to raising your baby into a happy, healthy child. If your baby is crying and wants to be held a lot, it doesn't mean that your baby is spoiled as some may say. It means that that particular baby needs more nurturing than other babies. Some babies do require more attention, while others are fine not being held all the time. Another way of looking at it is if the baby is in wet diapers and crying, you wouldn't say you were spoiling it by changing its diaper. It is crying for a reason, just as a crying baby that wants to be held is uncomfortable in a different way. This baby needs more of the physical contact. Always go with what you feel is right for your baby, not what someone tells you.

Remember you are that baby's mom. It is more important what you do with that baby than it is what someone else wants you to do. They had their chance, now it is yours. Take it, hold dear to it and enjoy those moments because soon they will be gone and that baby will be grown.
