Toddler Stroller

Posted: Apr 06, 2010 |

With a toddler pretty much always on the ready to run, jump and jive it's important that when you do need them to sit and be still that they are comfortable and safe! Choosing the incorrect stroller can make yours and your toddler's shopping expeditions just that bit more difficult!
There are so many strollers to choose from it can seem overwhelming so here are some things to think about when you're making your decision. Stick to what you know you'll need for your specific circumstances not what the shop assistant tells you you need!

1. What do you think the main use for the stroller will be? Is for you to take around the block for a relaxing walk or are you more likely to go jogging with your toddler stroller? Do you need a lot of maneuverability as you'll be taking the stroller to busy shopping centers? Try to think about all those things and which one will be the 'main' use for you and choose the correct wheels accordingly.

2. Some strollers will only be safe to carry a toddler that is of a certain weight so it's very important you check as it's easy to forget just how much your little one has grown. If you can't easily find the details of weight restrictions be sure to ask for help in the store where they will have all the specifications on hand for what you need to know.

3. Considering again the main purpose of your stroller in terms of where and what you'll be doing on your travels,  you need to think about what accessories you might need. If you are going to be out early mornings jogging then you might need extra foot muffs for warmth for your toddler. If you can see you being in busy shopping centers waiting in queues then you might need some sort of play tray attachment to keep your toddler amused with spinning toys and a little place to for them to 'play'.

There are many more things to think about when buying your stroller, the main focus to begin with though is what and where you will use the stroller mainly so you can match up the required wheels and comfort factors related to bumpy or smooth pavements, length of time in the stroller and so on.

Be very careful if you are considering a second hand stroller, safety features are improved all the time so a second hand stroller needs to be checked over for what it does or doesn't include and please ensure that the breaks and harness are in perfect working order before even thinking about buying a second had toddler stroller.
