When we have more than one child
There are very few persons who have got only one child. Most of us have got more than one child and that is the reason, when they separate and start living separately, we do not know with whom we should stay and who shall be taking us easily. Whose wife shall also accept us and with whom we shall be able to adjust and spend the remaining part of our life. These are the moments when we are not at ease and we are under tension, under pressure and under stresses. One life partner may be liking to stay with one son and the other partner may be liking to stay with another and we can see that there are people when these two life partners are divided and they start living separately, father staying with one son and the mother staying with the other son. We have seen where parents are kept by rotation and they are not having the opportunity to stay with one son for the remaining part of their life.
As far as India is concerned, there are very few old age houses here and here the parents are to live with their sons and daughters for the remaining part of their life and it is for them to choose. We have seen that the parents here in India start favouring one child and ignoring the other child and the others start feeling that the parents shall stay with that fellow to whom they are favouring and the others start separating themselves. They start demanding their share in properties and they also start demanding the share in cash and ornaments. Here the sons and daughters are not accepting the wills prepared by the parents, and if we see records of Courts, we shall find that all the wills prepared and executed by the parents are under challenge and we shall see that the brothers and sisters are fighting here like enemies.
It does not mean that we should not produce more than one child, but if we produce, we shall have to see that we divide and distribute our love equally to all and none is deprived of our love and affection and none shall be deprived of his or her share in properties. If we accept and opt for such principles, then we shall be having some peace and if we ourselves are not clear, we shall be under mental stresses and tension and we shall be thinking on this subject without any result. When we have produced these children, all are part of our body, mind and heart and none should be discriminated and at the same time none should be deprived of his or her share and when we want to distribute our properties, we should see that the weaker and younger should get the better share and if we also give share of our daughter to her at the time of her marriage or spare the same for her to be handed over to her at an appropriate time, she too shall get proper accommodation at the house of her in laws.
So while dealing with our children, we must be fair to all and that is the only out-way when we shall not fear any tension, stresses, pressures and fears.
