More and more teenagers are having sex now days then have ever before. The national average for teenagers to lose their virginity is now 14!!!! One thing you must know before you keep reading, I am a teenager myself. I am writing this in reaction to seeing a lot of really good friends becoming mothers at an early age. At first I could not help but feel bad for them, thinking that their lives are over. Since most girls that get pregnant don't go to college and also there goes their freedom. Their freedom to go out and do whatever they want without having to worry too much about the consequences. To me those years of very little obligations and stress are extremely important. I believe that it is important to get those years out of your system, you don't want to grow up too early.
There is an enormous amount of pressure in high school to have sex and there is a misconception that all this pressure is being built only by guys. Girls are a huge reason for this pressure ,if every other girl is having sex then it must be alright. No matter what every book and movie tells you about high school boys and sex , GIRLS WANT TO HAVE SEX AS MUCH AS BOYS. Why wouldn't they, it's a natural basic human instinct. The only thing that's wrong with this is that teenagers are usually ignorant. They think that it could never happen to them or that if they did it a certain way they wouldn't get pregnant.
Teenagers are going to get pregnant. There is nothing anyone can do about it but they have to understand that its incredibly hard. Having a baby is getting more and more expensive, and I'm not just talking about the whole hospital thing.
