Battle of the Aces for NLCS
Last night marked a big win for the San Francisco Giantagainst thePhiladelphia Phillies in game four of the National League Championship Series.
The Giants scraped by the Phillies with a sacrifice fly to left field off of Phillies' reliever Roy Oswalt to bring Aubrey Huff home. Aubrey had hit a single earlier in the inning, and made it to third off of a single by Buster Posey.
"I got butterflies," winning pitcher Brian Wilson said. "I got anxiety. I got a mini-ulcer developing, but it's all worth it. We never lost focus."
The win brings the Giants one win away from the World Series. Tonight'sGame 5 will see some of the MLB's finest pitchers battle it out.
Starting pitcher for the Phillies, will be Roy "The Doc" Halladay, whose latest addition to a long list of accomplishments was the October 6th no-hitter he threw against the Cincinnati Reds, his second no-hitter in MLB postseason history.
Appearing on the mound for the SF Giants will be 26 year old Tim "The Freak" Lincecum. Lincecum has won the last two National League Cy Young Awards. Both Halladay and Lincecum faced each other in the series opening, with Lincecum coming out ahead.
The SF Giants could clinch a spot in the World Series tonight at AT&T Stadium. If they do, they will play the winner between New York Yankees versus Texas Rangers. The Rangers are currently leading the series 3-2 after a 7-2 loss to the Yankees yesterday. The Series now returns toRangers Ballpark where Game 6 and potentially Game 7 will determine who represents the American League at the World Series.
