Dri-Ball Stretches Your Baseball Budget

Posted: Jan 18, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

How many baseballs have you thrown away because they landed in the drainage ditch at the back of the baseball field?  How many times have you tossed a $4 softball because by the end of practice it was soaked from a damp outfield?  How much of your shrinking supplies budget do you think ends up in the trash every year in the form of wet baseballs and softballs?  If you're like most coaches you know it's too much.

Fear not my friends there is a low budget solution to your problems.  I'm sure you've all heard of Dri-Ball.  Dri-Ball has been on the market for years but it still amazes me how many people don't use it.  Dri-Ball is a powdered solution that absorbs water very quickly sucking the moisture right out of your wet baseballs and softballs.  In fact it's used for footballs and tennis balls as well.

In general once baseballs and softballs get wet and the winding on the inside absorbs moisture they are no longer usable.  The reason for this is that the weight increases and they no longer have that pop off of the bat.  Heavily water logged baseballs or softballs could damage a bat which would really put a dent in your budget with today's high end bat prices.  Extremely water logged balls are unfortunately no longer usable, even Dri-Ball won't fix them so it's best to use Dri-Ball as soon as you notice the cover of the ball becoming wet.  Keep the leather covers dry before the inside of the ball gets destroyed.

The Dri-Ball kit comes with 2 packages of the Dri-Ball compound, instructions and a shaker bag.  Simply put the compound in the shaker bag add damp baseballs, softball, footballs, tennis balls or even a mix of all four and shake.  In moments the water will be absorbed and the balls covers will not be damaged.

Dri-Ball retails for under $60 a kit and can save you hundreds of dollars.  Every program should have a few kits on hand.  Before football season we recommend that you purchase a few kits as drying footballs is one of the most popular uses for Dri-Ball and during football season Dri-Ball kits often sell out and are temporarily out of stock.  Especially during those years when the rain just won't quit.  Pick up a few Dri-Ball kits today, you'll find them for sale at www.MorleyAthletic.com where you can even save by taking advantage of a great quantity price on kits.
