Pretreat your uniform before washing. This is especially important if your uniform is very dirty. You may have played a challenging game of football and baseball and when you come home you realize that your uniform is in a complete mess and washing it would not be able to take out all the stains. In any such scenario, it is important that you soak your uniform in a bath of warm water and about 1/4 cup of pretreatment spray.
Wash according to care label
This is very important because generally people tend to throw their uniform in the laundry with the rest of the clothes and so when you take out your uniform after the wash, you find that it is not usable any longer. You will find sports uniform come with instructions on how they should be washed. So follow the instructions on the label and you will find that you can increase the life of your uniform. Note that SPEC-TAK color has been introduced recently in the market. It is cheap and particularly useful for white uniforms. It brightens the clothes and removes the yellowness.
Air dry instead of using your dryer
You may be in a rush and therefore you dry your sports uniform in the dryer. However, keep in mind that using a dryer on your uniform is never recommended. This is because over time the heat from the dryer can make the number on the uniform crack making the uniform seem old and unkept. The best option is to air dry your uniform.
Iron if needed
As in the case with washing, you should read the instructions on the label for ironing. Some clothes need to be turned inside out before they are ironed.
