Nicky Locascio continues to play hard and impress scouts

Nicky Locascio  2012 (Community School of Naples) has helped the team in winning 2 district  titles with his excellent performance on the field whether it was pitching, batting, or fielding. With an on base percentage of .434 and slugging percentage of .493, Nicky Locascio has a batting average of .356. Nicky Locascio has also shown his talent in fielding with fielding percentage of .952, he has scored 11 runs with 16 runs batted in. Last season ( 2010) he started 11 games with 7 wins and only 2 losses.He had an 1.95 ERA with 63 ks  and only 17 bb's.

At 6-1 and 190 lb. Nicky Locascio has an athletic build and a balanced delivery with 3 pitches. He has been evaluated by scouts  as having  a feel for a sharp 11-5 curveball and  86 mph fastball. . With good arm speed he has a good cutting action on fastball, downhill plane, around the plate and good upside on the mound.

Nicky Locascio hits from a square stance and that puts power in his shots. His pitching action has also been praised by his coaches and scouts. His hitting action has been described as a short compact swing with quick hands and solid bat. he runs the bases with lightning speed and.he is a crafty outfielder 6.72 (60) who knows how to play the position with a cannon of an arm  he has been  clocked at 92 mph from rightfeild. In a perfect game showcase.

Lately , Nicholas Locascio has been on FIRE ,( on the mound and at bat ) 3 weeks ago in Jupiter Florida, with a large contingency of college and pro scouts in attendance,  At a perfect game event Nick Locascio along with Danny Brown (2011 Community School )combined to  pitch  a No -hitter in a WWBA championship pool game ,against a worthy opponent  and  pool winner British Columbia.

Last week Nicky Locascio  hit  2 Home Runs in the first  game , and tripled in the second at a  GPA Baseball college showcase event in Clearwater Fl. to finish the season Just  this past weekend , at the HEADFIRST  SHOWCASE in Jupiter Florida, Nicky  hit for the cycle. in 4 games  he had a Home Run,  a   triple ,  2 doubles and 2 singles when he went 6 for 8  in the showcase in front of 40 college scouts .He also pitched 5 innings and with no runs scored against him he only allowed 2 hits.Nick  Locasciowill be taking off this month to do some body strengthening and conditioning to prepare for the upcoming  Florida HS season which begins in mid-feb.

Community School of Naples announced the hiring of their new head coach Joe Cali in September of 2010.     The Seahawks of Community School of Naples opened with an away game at Lely high school to start the 2011 season. The Seahawks were lead by senior pitcher (and Flagler College committ) Danny Brown who pitched a gem of a game. Brown gave up 2 runs on only 4 hits while striking out 10 batters he did not walk a single batter.
