Steroids in baseball...
Anabolic steroids are a synthetic version of the male hormone testosterone. In it's normal state, testosterone boosts muscle growth. But when it is supplemented with steroids, you have an increase of muscle mass and enhanced endurance.
It is used by athletes to try to have that extra edge over the competition.
Steroid side effects include mood swings, depression, roid rage, violence, aggression, hair loss/growth, acne, liver damage and the most severe...cancer.
Steroids provide a quick explosion of muscle mass and endurance, but long term provide an explosion of decreased mental and physical health.
Steroid use in baseball is illegal...and is against the Major League Baseball's rules.
Yet athletes today still resort to steroid use, for the quick gain of fame. It is believed that steroid use in baseball will lead you down the path of fame and fortune!!!...not the right attitude if you ask me!
Some people believe that using steroids in baseball will lead to increased hitting and running performance...due to the increase in strength and endurance that steroids provide.
But the side effects of steroid use in are clear...STEROIDS WILL CAUSE YOU HARM !
Although there has been many suspicions on steroid use in baseball, there is no proof of use of steroids to enhance current records in the record book.
It is not hard to see why some players may have been tempted to the dark side of steroid use in baseball. The pressure of having to keep up your game must be quite immense...But it is clear...STEROIDS CAUSE MORE HARM THAN GOOD !!!
The short-term effects of the use of steroids in baseball might seem tempting for some, but the long term effects say it all...
THE USE OF STEROIDS IN BASEBALL IS SHAMEFUL, DIS-HONEST AND DAMAGING
