The time is finally here... so get your pen and paper ready as we break down our top Vegas college basketball picks and 2011 NCAA bracket predictions for the men's national championship set to begin on Tuesday evening. TruTV will host the "first four" games to start off the NCAA tournament while ESPN networks, CBS, TBS and TNT will broadcast the remainder of the games. As expected, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Kansas Jayhawks, Pitt Panthers and Duke Blue Devils are college basketball betting favorites in odds to win the 2011 NCAA championship.

Most handicappers either have Ohio State or Kansas going all the way in their 2011 NCAA bracket predictions and I can't say that I blame them. The Buckeyes enter the tournament as the #1 seed in the East after finishing the season 32-2 and had a demanding 16-2 record in Big Ten conference action. Jared Sullinger led the Buckeyes this season averaging 17.2-ppg with 10.1 rebounds and will get his first chance to lead his squad to a title on Friday at 4:30pm EST when they will play the winner of George Mason vs Villanova. Vegas college basketball picks at sportsbooks have listed Ohio State as 5/1 favorites in college basketball odds to win the 2011 NCAA tournament.

Probably the most exciting team to step on the floor this year for the "big dance" will be the Kansas Wildcats who finished the season with a mark of 32-2 straight up and 14-2 in the Big Ten conference. What more can you say about head coach Frank Martin's team but wow. The twin tandem of Marcus and Markieff Morris have proven to be a dangerous threat for all teams as the two lead the Wildcats averaging 17.3 and 13.6-ppg while also cleaning the boards with 7.2 and 8.2-rebounds per game respectively. Kansas is the #1 seed in the Southwest region and will begin their first round action vs #16 Boston University on Friday, March 18th at 6:45pm EST on TBS. 2011 NCAA bracket predictions at sportsbooks have listed the Wildcats as 4/1 favorites in Vegas college basketball picks to win the NCAA tournament.

The Ohio State Buckeyes garnered the top seed in both the NCAA Tournament and in East regional odds. Despite having their athletic director, Gene Smith, as chair of the selection committee; it appears as if the AD did his own team no favors as the 2011 bracket predictions for the East includes such powerhouse teams as Syracuse, North Carolina and Kentucky.

We all know that when you receive a trophy, you have achieved something. Frequently the size of the trophy directly reflects the magnitude of the achievement. Sometimes, as with the Olympics, medals are presented instead of trophies. Trophies have been in existence since ancient times.
