The recent blockbuster deal that took place, where the Cavaliers acquired Shaquille O’Neal from the Phoenix Suns, is truly in line with what the team wants to achieve next season.  Danny Ferry, Cavs General Manager said in a statement, “This move and our goals are aligned with what our players want, including LeBron, to win a championship and win it this year. We don’t want to be patient.”  Although Shaq no longer moves like once he did, he is coming off an All-Star season. He average 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds in 75 games. But his most important contributions perhaps are his ability to slow down any players in the league like Howard.
One (Kyle Korver) out of three Utah Jazz players has decided to remain with the Utah Jazz while the remaining two – Mehmet Okur and Carlos Boozer are still undecided. Okur’s agent, Marc Fleisher said through an email Monday that his client might be opting out, but still hadn’t decided yet.  Meanwhile for Boozer, he had expressed of wanting to opt out of his contract too. He said a few months back that he might end up with the New Jersey Nets.  Okur is set to earn $9 million next year while Boozer is expected to earn $12 million. Both players have been integral in helping their team reached the playoffs this season.
