ABOUT THE LAKERS (44-19): Despite all the prodding by head coach Phil Jackson, poor play from Ron Artest and a battered Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, the Lakers enter on a six-game winning streak. They also have 22 road wins, tied with San Antonio and Dallas for the most in the NBA. The Lakers will be tested now with four straight on the road, with Atlanta, Miami and Dallas to follow. Bryant scored 27 points Friday as the Lakers topped Charlotte, 92-84. Derek Fisher injured his left elbow in the third period and didn't return.
