In Ground Basketball Systems - Basketball Shots that Every Player Should Master

Once you have your in ground basketball goal installed and ready to go, you still need to go about getting good on the court.  While nothing can replace just practicing with your friends, there are a handful of key, important shots that you should get good at to really master your home basketball court. 

The Layup – The layup is a move when you go for a shot at the basketball while charging full speed at the in ground basketball goal. These shots are great on a steal or if you happen to breakaway from the opposing team very quickly.  The official rules say that you can make two full steps without dribbling on a layup attempt without being called for traveling.  You should take advantage of this fact, and practice what it feels like to take this kind of shot at the in ground basketball goal.  

The Jump Shot – If you can out jump your opponent, you will totally stop any attempt they have from blocking you.  To perform this shot, simply jump vertically as high as you can and make your shot once you reach the top of the jump.  If you time it right, you will be able to make a shot right over a defender’s head.  It takes a little practice to simultaneously think about jumping up and timing your shot, but once you have it mastered, it’s super easy to overcome almost any defense attempt. 

The Free Throw – Making a free throw shot at the in ground basketball hoop, with no pressure from someone trying to block you, is all about simple mechanics.  Once you have mastered the basic motion, it should be no problem for you to nail the free throw most of the time. One of the tricks to a good free throw is simple visualization.  When you visualize the basketball swishing through the in ground basketball goal before you actually make the shot, it can actually improve your chances of doing it successfully.

The Three Pointer -  Don’t forget to practice going for distance on your in ground basketball system.  Getting really good at shooting from downtown can make you unstoppable on the basketball court. The trick is to master getting a really high arc that drops right into the basket.
