Manu Ginobili Bat: Ginobili a.ka. Bat Man!

There was news from the San Antonio Spurs Vs Sacramento Kings game, and it had nothing to do with the scores. On the night of October 31st, a bat made its way to the arena and started flying around.

Being an uncommon occurrence, the game was paused for a moment until the court was cleared. And sure enough it was, and the game resumed. But with time the persistent critter made its way back to the arena and started getting everyone’s attention with its low flights.

Of course not everyone looks forward to holding or even getting close to a bat, and that’s why no one was willing to stop it. That is except Manu Ginobili. He positioned himself in the path of the bat and as it approached, he struck it with dead accuracy, which made it fall to the floor without life.

Such a great feat did deserve applauding, something the crowd, the coaches and even the players from the opposing team gave without holding back. To ensure all health risks were controlled, Manu was given some antimicrobial disinfectant, while the batman theme song was cheerfully played in tribute.

Yes, the Spurs did win the game, but all the media highlighting went to Manu as it was him everyone was talking about soon after the game time lapsed. Maybe it was with the timing, but given that no one else rose to the occasion, Manu did deserve a second round of applause for stopping what other players were afraid of getting close to.
