If you are wanting to improve your jumping ability then you have to workout. It's as simple as that.. You have to exercise for strength. With that being said I would like to show you exactly how you can increase your vertical jump. Before working out you must stretch and warm up. After you're ready you want to begin your program. The workouts should consist of a series of lower body (workouts that focus on all of the major muscle groups regarding your leaping ability.
The best muscles that have to do with the jumping motion are the calves, quads, hamstrings, thighs, and gluts. An ideal workout that involves all of these muscles is the power clean. but you must have excellent form in order to do this workout and in order to prevent you from getting injured.
Essentially you want to do low reps for maximum strength and include some jump training. By doing this you will transfer some of that raw strength into explosion. Other muscles that must also be included would be the core of your body, like the abs and back. muscles such as your core, including your back and abs. This good because it can improve stability.
After a while you might start to become used to the amount of weight that you're training with. If you do then you probably want to start putting a few more pounds on. This may be different from one person to another. You want to do what you feel is right for you. Also remember to improve your max at least two times a month. You can not increase your strength significantly if you don't challenge yourself to the fullest of your capabilities.
