A lot of youth basketball players seem to have trouble when it comes to dribbling or ball control, but if you put the time in practicing the right way and learn the proper techniques then your skills will steadily improve over time, guaranteed! You do not need to think that because you have problems dribbling the basketball that you are doomed and can not play basketball. By starting with the fundamentals of dribbling and using fun drills to practice those techniques, you will see steady improvement that will only make you want to practice more. - Always practice with your weak hand so that you can improve it
- Use your off hand and body to protect the ball
- Practice changing your pace and speed
- Practice on changing direction
- Once you break through the defender, be sure to keep your dribbling in front of you
Keep in mind that when practicing dribbling in basketball, it is all about keeping your head up so you can see your teammates and what's going on with the defense around you. It's important to be able to dribble with either hand so make sure you practice your drills with both hands equally each time.
