Are Shower Stalls Safe?

Many of us have nightmares from gym class. High school was a difficult and awkward time no matter who were. Whether you were the head of the cheerleading squad or the bookworm, you were uncomfortable with who you were; the only difference was how well you could hide your insecurities and promote a sense of self-confidence. Gym class, however, was usually the one place where those masks came off and they did so in the shower stalls. Everyone needed a rinse off before getting back into their outfits and even though most of the bathroom shower enclosures had curtains, it was still embarrassing to undress with other girls around. High school girls are even meaner than the boys when it comes to teasing so many people hated those locker rooms.

Even if you were not one of the girls teased, showering off in these stalls was still a nightmare. The grimy walls and moldy corners were disgusting and most people would make these shower trips as short as possible. Shower sandals were an absolute must; it was much better to forgo the shower that day and go to class slightly sweaty then risk picking up some sort of fungus from the shower room!

Due to experiences like these in high school, most people are very wary of public shower stalls. The shower is a place that is very prone to mildew and mold. It was a wet environment, which, if not cleaned properly, is the perfect place for bacteria and other organisms to grow. If you are someone who is terrified of using the shower stall due to your past experiences, it is time to conquer that fear! As long as you know how to keep your shower clean, shower stalls are perfectly safe for daily use.

Once a week, you need to give your shower a good, thorough scrub down. In order to make your task easier, you should avoid storing many bath products in your shower because they can harbor just as many germs as your shower stall can. Purchase a high power shower scrubber soap and long handled brush so that you can reach all those high corners and low spots without needing to bend over. If you have glass shower doors, purchase a cleaner that is meant for glass; using the correct product will help eliminate all the water spots and make your shower look brand new! As long as make sure you keep your stall clean, it is perfectly safe for daily use!

The girls locker room's in both my junior high and high schools had those group showers where we all had to shower in front of each other. I have never even heard of shower stalls in a school.
