I have an 18' above ground pool with a cartridge filter that I purchased last year. The filter is working fine and is pumping water back into the pool quite strong. My problem is that when I attempt to hook up the vacuum using the adaptor in the skimmer. It begins to form a whirlpool and I lose pressure. I have not been able to vacuum since opening the pool a week ago. I've talked to several people that have pools and even questioned the people at the local pool store. Nothing has worked and I'm at my wits end. Please point me in the right direction. I live in Lyndhurst, NJ. Thank you.
