The Different Types Of Bathtubs

Do you consider yourself a bathtub connoisseur? Most people are actually unfamiliar with the types of tubs that are available. If, however, you are interested in a new tub, you have several different choices. The type of tub that is right for you entirely depends on your budget and your needs. Here is a quick overview of the different tubs that are available.

1) The standard bathtub/shower combination. These tubs are either drop-in or alcove designed tub which means that they fit in a specific place in the room. The alcove tub touches walls on three sides and has a "skirt" on the side that is not flush against a wall. For the most part, these tubs are rectangular, no frills bathtubs. They are perfect for showering or taking a relaxing bubble bath.

2) A walk in bath tub. These tubs are ideal for those who are elderly or handicapped. Most models fit into a standard size bathtub space but are much easier to use than a standard bathtub. Instead of swinging your legs up and over the side into the bath and risking injury, these step in tubs have a convenient door that swings open so you can access the tub easily. Sit yourself down on the seat inside, close the water tight door, fill up the water and enjoy the bath! It makes using the bathroom much safer for individuals who may need extra assistance.

3) A whirlpool bath tub. Have you always wanted to have a luxurious bathing experience? Whirlpool tubs come in all shapes and sizes. If you have the space, you can even purchase a tub that can accommodate two people so you have extra room! Whether you have a jetted whirlpool system or you decide to go for the champagne bubbles, you will love how relaxing a water massage can be to your sore muscles.

Each type of bathtub has its advantages and disadvantages; the main factor being cost. However, you can afford the tub that you want! The best place you can find these discount tubs is online. Internet retailers do not have to pay the high costs to keep items in stock so you can save hundreds of dollars!
