Find out if they are a member of a professional trade body, which means they have to strictly stand by the organisations codes. If the plumber says that he or she is then research it by contacting the trade body do not just believe everything that is said. Do not be embarrassed to ask these questions, after all if you don’t it will cost more than your pride to put right. If you require a plumber urgently call a handful in your area, do not just accept the first quote, as it may be more expensive than necessary.
