Tips for Dealing with Acne

If you've got an acne problem, then here's how to save a lot of time, money, and headache in getting rid of it. Many drugstore acne treatments can cause frustration for acne sufferers because they don't work as well as hoped. While acne usually is a stubborn problem, many people have cured their acne by using some simple home remedies. Since they are much less expensive than conventional solutions, people tend to overlook these treatments. This might be under the assumption that you get what you pay for, but this is not necessarily the case here. To finally get rid of your acne, give the following home remedies a try.

Apple cider vinegar is a great natural remedy for treating acne and other conditions. It is great for boosting your immune system and can be used to treat infections and inflammations. This remedy is safe for internal and external use and you will see good results either way. When you use it, you should dilute it with water, as it not only has a strong taste, but it can be harsh against the skin when it's undiluted. Try to get raw, organic apple cider vinegar if you can. Spot treat the places where you have pimples with the apple cider vinegar. Pour it on a cotton ball and use athletic tape to keep it on that spot without holding it. You will get more effective results if you also drink apple cider vinegar several times a day (again, diluted with water). Alternatively, you can use it in salad dressings and many other recipes. Apple cider vinegar can be used not only as an effective acne treatment, but it can be used to detoxify the whole body as well. This is important to know because acne stems from a whole body issue, not just your skin.

Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca oil, is one of the best natural acne treatments next to apple cider vinegar. Because melaleuca oil is a powerful anti-fungal and antibacterial product, it is very effective for treating acne. Melaleuca oil is effective because it is good at fighting off bacteria that can cause acne. Use clean cotton to apply it. Keep in mind that pure tea tree oil is very strong and should be diluted, or it can irritate the skin. Carefully follow any instructions on products that contain tea tree oil. To make sure it doesn't further irritate your skin, you should also only use a little bit to start. Used correctly, tea tree oil is a very effective natural acne treatment.

You may also want to try aloe vera gel as a natural acne treatment. Look at your local drugstore or health food store to find it. Even getting an aloe vera plant works, but you'll likely need more aloe vera than what a single plant can yield. Getting a variety of aloe products such as soap, a lotion, and a gel is another way to go, as this all-natural, plant-based product is safe enough to use on your face several times a day. Before you go to bed at night, you can apply the gel to your face. Because aloe vera is very gentle on the skin, you don't even have to wash it off. Aloe vera juice helps your body detoxify itself faster, so your acne will clear up more quickly.

Now that you understand the effectiveness of natural acne solutions, you'll probably approach your situation in a whole new light. Acne is a common skin condition that effects most people at some point in their lives. Good hygiene, a healthy diet, as well as following these recommendations, will help you get rid of your acne. You should also remember that acne treatments often take several weeks to work, so you have to be a little patient. Some people give up on a natural remedy after a few days, but when you compare it to conventional products, the natural remedies work just as fast, if not faster. For example, a product like Accutane takes a month or more for it to work. Try a natural remedy instead to save some time and money while actually fixing your acne.
