Nowadays people talk much about animals and birds because they realized them as part of environment.

Environmental scientists are also very active in protecting these voiceless creatures from extinction.

No one pays much attention, but still they are interesting neighbors who live with us.

Some are domesticated and others are not.

They are in fact, nomads.

Some are docile whereas others are ferocious.

We are afraid of some and love some others.

Children are taught in the school that animals are good friends of man.

Generally they are taken to visit zoos and shown various animals kept under captivity.

Elephants, tiger, lion, deer and monkeys are some of the common animals found in zoos.

Similarly we find some common birds like owl, peacock, vulture, eagle and parrots in the zoo.

All these animals and birds remained us that they are also part of our environment.

They have the right to live in this world as we have.

Animal activists are helpful to these creatures to certain extent.

They convey the hardships caused to animals and birds to the concerned authorities.

There are many animals and birds which are not taken care of.

As a result, they are reaching the edge of extinction.

Every country is keeping an eye on it to protect these valuable creatures.

Wild-life scientists work on these aspects of survey and protection of fauna and flora.

Media bring the importance of animals and birds to the notice of the public.

Basic documentation is not easy to maintain as far as the wild animals are concerned.

Birds like peacocks are beautiful birds and also they are the National Birds.

They cause considerable damage to grain crops and nursery.

They proliferate fast and live in shady orchards and move in groups.

No one kills them.

Some say that they are the birds of Lord Muruga; so people afraid of killing them.

Some of them are regular visitors to my home garden and spoil some chilli plants.

It appears, they like leaves of chilli plants.

Even they relish eating the hot chillies.

Bird watching is a hobby for some who can identify the birds very easily.

Binoculars are used as spyglass to locate birds and sometimes animals too.

Once I started writing down the names of animals and birds I have seen.

Conservation of forest and its inmates is an important aspect of our Ecosystem.

There are hundreds of small and big animal species, but we know few of them and their habits and life-cycle.

They have their own way of living which is recorded often by the National Geographic group and show us in their TV channel.

Without visiting the deep jungle we can sit in the arm chair of our drawing room and watch the activities of the fauna all around the world.

Tropical forest is one of the sanctuaries for many animals and birds.

Weather conditions affect them because of the temperature low or high, rainfall excess or deficit.

Such seasonal effects may kill some of the animals and birds.

Elephants are very big animals which require more water and food.

As long as the environment is favorable, they are happy to stay in the jungle.

If they do not get water and food due to drought, they move towards the countryside where human beings cultivate crops with great difficulty.

There are instances, that human beings are killed by elephants.

Also there are instances elephants are killed by passing trains when they cross railway tracks.

Electric fence is being used to prevent animals to cross over the cropped area and villages.

Animals and birds are domesticated by man for his personal use.

In fact, elephants are looked after by rich people in Kerala and also by some temples.

Animals and birds become friendly, if we offer them food.

I find a crow is regularly fed by my wife and it comes both morning and afternoon and calls her to get it's regular food.

The crow lives in tree branches and has become a friend of my wife.

Sometimes it eats grains from her palm.

No fear.

So all living being in our Planet Earth is friendly to human beings if we love them.

So favoring fauna is our duty…to make our planet healthy.
